Lake: Highrock

Dates: 9/16 -9/22/2019

Group Name: Hale

Guest Comments:  Fishing started off slow on walleye, but finished up fast. Bass fishing was strong all week as the big fish liked what we had to offer. A dozen bass between 19 and 19.5 inches and lots more over 18 inches with plenty of fight. The last few days the walleye came alive so it turned out to be a really good trip. Thanks to Lucas and Nicole for running a first class operation, they really work hard to insure we have a great fishing experience. Trevor is the best pilot we have ever flown with and Hunter is always ready to help out. We really appreciate what they do,  5 Stars!

Lake: Highrock

Dates: 9/11 -9/16/2019

Group Name: Weyl

Guest Comments:

9-11 … fly in, set up, fish half day. Figuring out where the fish were, fishing was slow. A couple of respectable NP, and a few small walleye.

9-12 … weather was rainy, cold, and windy. Located fish – mostly walleye, enough to eat – not much more

9-13 … Weather was rainy, cold, and windy. Located and caught more fish – mostly walleye, one  large SMB/one large walleye

9-14 … Average fishing in the morning. But - 2:30 – 5:30 … ABSOLUTELY THE BEST 3 HOURS OF FISHING IN MY LIFE. 60 fish. 2 boats and 3 minutes did not go by without a fish. ALL (YES ..all) of  the fish were large. 20 of them would be mountable – numerous 26” walleye/ numerous 4lb - 6lb SMB … simply amazing. All were caught and released as we had enough fish for dinner from the morning/day prior.

9-15 … Repeated tactics and location of 9-14 … nice fish caught, but one per 30 minutes vs one per 3 minute … that’s fishing!

Lake: Dogfly

Dates: 9/7 -9/14/2019

Group Name: Galazin

Guest Comments: What a great fishery!! Even after 7 years, we are amazed that the fish population is so robust for all 3 species: Bass, pike, and lake trout. At times we have had a laker on every 30 minutes. We caught 50 bass in less than an hour. And the pike are just as mean and nasty as always - plenty in the 2-3 foot range.  We'll be back again next year! Save the fishery; release all fish while in the water.

Lake: Grant

Dates: 8/12/-8/16/2019

Group Name: Spzak

Guest Comments: Enjoyed our trip to Grantand the wonderful weather. Fishing was a bit slow during our stay with the clear sky and sun. Primarily fished for musky and caught 1 - 34" and had many follows including the legendary "BIG DON". Bass were moving slow, caught a number of bass that were smaller in size and a 35" pike. Fish were generally found deep on the steep breaks. Tried for lake trout but no luck this time.

Lake: Sakwite Lake

Dates: 8/10/-8/15/2019

Group Name: Ayers

Guest Comments: The brown bass literally are stacked in this lake like firewood.  We caught a few northern, but the walleye were pretty hard to come by. We found the bass in pretty much every kind of structure, but the best seemed to be in the faster water and on the shoreline where it dropped off fairly quickly.  Live bait was their favorite, but we also caught them on shallow diving plugs and small spinner baits.  As far as the cabin and boats, we couldn't have asked for anything more.  Everything worked as it should, and the very nice boats and motors really made for nice, trouble-free fishing.  Everything considered, I would highly recommend this lake to anyone who wants beautiful scenery, great accommodations, and great bass fishing.

Lake: Jones Lake

Dates: 8/10/-8/15/2019

Group Name: Kates

Lake: Sakwite Lake

Dates: 8/7/-8/10/2019

Group Name: Tong

Guest Comments: The windy conditions made fishing a little tougher, but the bite was still pretty good. Smallmouth bass were caught on small Texas-rigged plastics (5" worms), larger Mepps spinners, and small top water lures such as jitterbugs. Northern pike were caught in some of the deeper channels trolling crankbaits that ran between 8'-15' deep. The walleye bite was slow, but when we did catch them, it was on crankbaits running 6'-10' deep.

Thanks again for such a great trip! We absolutely loved it and would love to come back to the same lake again soon!

Lake: Fishtrap Lake

Lots of small and medium Northerns trolling spinners or divers over weed beds on Fishtrap. Caught all of our Walleyes on Unnamed Lake in 4-6 feet of water near weeds on east side of lake. Portage easy; look for red flags to get started. i highly recommend a midday nap to complement fishing early and late. Thanks to Nicole, Lucas, Hunter, Trevor, et al.

Caught a lot of bass on beds in shallow wind-blown points and bays on top water plugs and shallow cranks.  We had a  bit of a hard time finding the walleyes on Fishtrap but the portage to Upper Highrock was easy and led to the eater-sized walleyes on jigs and minnows  We didn’t really fish for pike but caught them while looking for  walleyes. Enjoyed seeing all the wildlife too (moose, bear, mink, fox, ruffed grouse with chicks, loons, and eagles).  Thanks to Lucas, Nicole, Hunter, and Trevor for a great trip.

Guest Comments: Another great week with GNO. Weather ranged from 36 - 90 degrees, some heavy rain, and some high winds, but we fished anyway. Bass were pretty hard to find but we managed 2 - 4#. Walleye were much more cooperative and we caught them at every spot Lucas showed us. Nicole and Lucas run a first class operationas they are constantly improving everything. Hunter has really helped us and they have the BEST pilot in Trevor. We will be back in the fall.

Lake: Dogfly Lake

Dates: 6/2-6/9/2019

Group Name: Springer

Guest Comments: After many years in the old cabin, we were looking forward to the new accommodations and we were not disappointed. The new cabin was fabulous! To be able to admire the beauty of the lake from the screened in porch without getting eat up by mosquitos was wonderful. And the fishing was great as always. We caught many bass in the 17-19 inch range with a few reaching 20 inches. The largest pike was 37 inches with several caught that were 32-35 inches. Weather ran the gauntlet from 31 degrees Sunday night to 89 degrees on Saturday. The boats and motors were in perfect running order as usual. And it’s satisfying to fly with a pilot like Trevor who always puts safety first. Lucas and Nicole always do their best for their clients from the pre-flight breakfast to the load out at the end of the trip. Booked for next year.
